It is with great pleasure that we welcome Rabbi Alex Weissman as our new rabbi, as of July 1st. Rabbi Weissman is a graduate of Tufts University. He obtained his Masters of Hebrew Letters and the title of Rabbi at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College, in Wyncote, Pennsylvania. He comes to us from Brown/RISD Hillel, where he has served as Senior Jewish Educator. His communal service includes a position on the Ethics Committee of the Reconstructing Judaism movement; contributions to “Evolve,” a curriculum designed for Reconstructionist communities; and membership on the Social Justice Task Force of the Jewish Alliance of Greater Rhode Island. Rabbi Weissman is employed part-time at T’ruah, a rabbinical group devoted to promoting human rights. Rabbi Weissman and his partner currently reside in Providence, Rhode Island.
I would like to thank the members of the search committee for all of their hard work to make this process such a success. I would also like to thank the members of the board for their leadership. And I would like to thank all of you for your help and patience through this process. We could not have done it without all of you too. We are fortunate to have Rabbi Weissman join us and I look forward to his leadership for years to come. Warm regards, Amy
